Ben completed his BS degree at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. While attending graduate school for Business Administration at the University of Hawaii, Ben was a civilian flight instructor for the United States Marine Corps at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay. Ben qualified in Air Force T37-T38’s in December 1969 and completed Combat Crew Training in T-33 and F84F’s in June 1970. While assigned to the 170th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Ben was a Flight Leader in the Phantom II F4C fighter aircraft.
Ben Served as President of Lefton Iron and Metal and was the company pilot in C310 aircraft. He is a professional aviator and has served as Director of Operations, Training Pilot, and Line Pilot for FAA Part 135 on Demand Charter. His flight certificates include FAA Airline Transport Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Commercial Glider Pilot, Private Pilot Helicopter, Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, Multi Engine Instructor, and Advanced Ground Instructor. He has logged over 15,000 flight hours during his aviation career.
